september 2009 :: road trip

Last weekend Nate and I decided to pack up Milo & Norm and all of our assorted required gear and take a little road trip.  We left Friday evening and went up to Dillon, MT where we just had to hit up the Patagonia outlet (hellooooo long underwear and mittens for Milo!) before heading off towards the tiny little towns of Jackson & Wisdom, MT.  From there we meandered over to Salmon, ID and then drove back via Arco, ID (the first town to be lit by atomic power!) and Idaho Falls.

Ever since I found out that Fuji is now making instant cameras (i.e. Polaroid style) I have been desperately coveting the Fuji Instax Mini.  I haven’t gotten one just yet, but I decided to do the next best thing and shoot for the Polaroid (it’s like saying Kleenex instead of tissue, I can’t help myself!) look and format and doing some conversion magic in Photoshop when we got home.  Here’s what I came up with!

Craters of the Moon, ID.  It’s a huge field of lava, it’s really bizarre and alien-looking.
