january 25 :: skiing with nate

On Monday I took my camera out and about on the mountain in a nuking snowstorm.  This is something I’ve been meaning to do for a while (shoot while skiing, that is, the snowstorm was secondary) and I was pretty pleased with myself for remembering to bring a camera along.  I’m planning on doing this…

Kris - Beautiful! And cold . . . I feel chilled just looking at the photos. Nice job; can’t wait for your book to come out.

january 23

Yesterday we took a drive up to the airport to drop off my brother in law.  I haven’t shot much for myself lately (other than pictures of Milo, of course!) so I thought I’d grab the camera and see what there was to see on the way there and back. Ok, I know this is…

Julie Grossman - Love the cow!! Awesome. How could you resist not taking more of Milo, really? He’s ridiculously cute.

katy - Heh, well, I TOOK a lot more, I just managed to restrain myself to only posting two. Winona and Jezebel are adorable, btw!! We’ll have to do a Unie reunion one of these days.

Jan - I love the picture of the berries–of course the Milo one is my favorite. We miss the little guy. Great Memories. Like the way you make a trip to the airport an adventure in photography.

Chris - Should I be offended that you think the cow is the best model and not your brother-in-law? :) Great pictures! I miss Bernie’s Bowl.

engaged :: leah & eric

Leah & I have been best friends since high school.  We actually met in 8th grade on a ski trip, but didn’t really start to hang out a lot until freshman year when we were both sax players in the band (yes, I was a band geek.  It was awesome.).  Having come from a really…

Betsy - Love your bokeh on the ring shots. And your jewel collection!

katy - Thanks Betsy! The jewelry collection was Leah’s grandmother’s – she had a TON of costume jewelry. Leah is actually going to use a bunch of it as her bouquet, I can’t wait to see it!

Leah - Thanks my Katy!

katy - xoxoxoxo

wisconsin :: grandma’s house

My Grandma & Grandpa Parins’ house was where we always had Christmas Eve when I was little.  We’d get to run around with our cousins like crazy people and Grandma always had presents for everyone under the tree.  We’d have a big dinner, open presents, and usually fall asleep in the car on the way…

Kris - You see things other people look right past.. And the outside will still be there to shoot the next time you’re in Green Bay.

katy - excellent point. I’ll have to be sure to do a quick stop next time I’m home.

michelle - you’re so creative katy. i love looking at your pictures. thank you or posting!

katy - Thanks Michelle!

milo :: christmas

And finally, what you’ve all been waiting for…more Milo pictures! We went to Wisconsin to visit my family this year and had a great time – Milo had his very first sledding experience, plus he made great strides in present unwrapping.  We were treated to a classic white Christmas up north in the Nicolet Nat’l…

Jan - We have a wonderfully cute photogenic grandson!!! Glad to hear your Grandpa is much better-Grandpa Dillemuth is also doing better and hopes to go back home this weekend.

Dick - Gotta love that boy!

Kris - He looks so grown up in some of these pictures! Ask him to please slow down. Great photos, as always.

Claire Braun - How did that adorable little boy get so big? I loved your pictures, who wouldn’t with that wonderful subject. My favorite:the one under the tree checking out the lights. I think his maternal grandparents like him. Happy new year to you and Nate. Claire

katy - thanks everyone!

Gordy and Ruth Amundson - Dick and Kris said he is adorable, we have to agree. Aren’t the grandkids a delight. Have fun in the snow. We just returned from Duluth Minnesota, flew over Green Bay on our return to Pelican Cove, well almost.
Nice to be back here in the sunny south. Unfortunately the temperature is not much warmer than Duluth.

Happy New Year

Ruth and Gordy A.

michelle - that baby milo is just so cute! reminds me of my son conner :)

Betsy - Hey, I followed a link from facebook for, like, the first time ever b/c of the picture of the bride’s shoes, with a short DOF. (It was beckoning me to check out your work.) All that to say, I like your work and style. Especially dug the sled, low perspective shot–that was a mighty epic pose from such a little fella. Keep up the great work!
