old faithful

This weekend I got a wild hair and decided to take Milo on a spur of the moment trip up to Old Faithful in Yellowstone.  I hadn’t been in years and Milo had NEVER been, so it seemed like it was time.  Nate was working on a deadline so it was just the two of…

Kris - Great tilt/shift shots. Looks like you had a fun day! You’re right, Milo is getting taller by the minute. Love the looking-out-the-back window shot.

Eric Lagstein - Love the tilt shift shots!

John Shim - Love it! Glad it’s found a good home. Looks like you’re making better use of it than I ever did! :)

Chris - UK wedding photographer - The tilt shift works great with these photographs, looks really good. The texture at the end is subtle enough to get away with it.

published in airstream life, whoo!

A few months ago I got an email from the lovely Susan, whose wedding I shot last summer at her parent’s beautiful ranch over in Tetonia, ID (see blog posts here and here).  She was interested in submitting some photos to the magazine ‘Airstream Life‘ and would that be ok with me?  Ummm, heck YEAH!!!! …

Kris - Very exciting! Can’t wait to tell all of our Airstream cohorts (again.) Congratulations on getting published! Looks like a great spread.

Israel - Boise Photographer - That’s so much more exciting than the people who pick up my photos – being in cheesy tourist magazines is only cool for so long :)

idaho falls zoo

Last weekend we took a quick trip over to Idaho Falls to pick up some potty training books (yeah, I know I’m just setting myself up to have a kid in diapers until he’s 6) and check out the zoo.  Last time we went to the zoo milo was pretty little and couldn’t really take…

Kris - OMG you are killing me. Really killing me.
I need these files.
Can we go to the zoo again in October?
Those two shots with the black goat make it look like Milo’s feeding it his hat.
And the bubbler! Priceless.

katy - Yes, zoo again in October for SURE. :P

katy - And I thought that too about the goat and the hat! Milo actually enticed it over with a stick. Pretty clever for a little dude.

Eric Lagstein - The shots of the flamingos are wonderful!

teton county fair

Teton County Fair, whoooo!  It’s significantly different with a toddler…instead of the demo derby, we hit up the petting zoo. Just as much fun though, if not more.  Milo adored the goats. Nate showing Milo how to keep his hand flat so the goats don’t eat his fingers. Poking the goat’s toes. Apparently I also…

Kris - Very cool. Love the goat-toe-poking. After all the pictures of Milo, my next favorite is the one of the colored amusement ride cars, all stacked up. Looks like a fun time.

jackson hole farmer’s market

Just a few frames from the Farmer’s Market here in Jackson last weekend. Nate said these cupcakes were amaaaaaaazing.  Plus they’re so pretty.

em - Fmrs mkts are my fav things about summer. they’re tasty, colorful and social! who could ask for more!?

Kris - Nice! I’d love the recipe for those cupcakes. Your photo is ALMOST good enough to eat.

TJ McDowell - Do you do a lot of post-processing on your images? You’ve got a distinct style, and I’m guessing you’re not adjusting the settings in your camera to get that look to your images. Great work by the way.

katy - Hi TJ! I’ve got my look pretty well dialed between lightroom and PS – I have a preset I apply on import to LR that gets it pretty close and then pretty much everything on the blog gets some further love in PS. Thanks for looking!
