Just as the we were about to lose the fall colors I got the chance to do a family session with Wylie and his parents. We got lucky with a beautiful fall day and light that actually lasted past 5:30 pm. Wylie & Milo go to daycare together and although they managed to tame it for the session, he has the absolute fluffiest hair I’ve ever seen on a a toddler. Nicole (his mom) calls it his Bump-It.

the gooch & houston families – jackson hole portrait photographer

A few weeks ago I headed up north into Grand Teton National Park to do a group family photo (does that even make sense) for Liz & Kyle and Emily & Andy and their respective daughters. We got really lucky with a gorgeous sunny day and moderately cooperative children and got some great stuff. A few of my favorites…

Even though she looks about 6 months pregnant here Emily was actually full term and delivered baby Asher just a few days later! Stay tuned for his newborn session….

The day after Sharon & Andy’s beautiful wedding we headed out to the bridge under another bridge – I don’t know what it’s actually called but that’s how we kept referring to it! – to do a few portraits of the newlyweds.

ali & kevin engagement session – jackson hole portrait photographer

Have I ever mentioned that I love engagement sessions? It’s such a great opportunity to connect with my clients – we get a chance to get to know each other a little bit, you guys get a little more comfortable in front of the camera, you have a better idea of what to expect on your wedding day, it’s the perfect opportunity for a hair/makeup trial run, and best of all they are super relaxed & laid back.

About a week before Ali & Kevin’s (totally amazing!!) wedding we headed out to do a session up north of town. We hit the sunset light just right and got some beautiful golden light across the grass and mountains. It was a great chance for them to have a little alone time (well, alone with me at least, ha) and to get to know how I work in a portrait session (I have done photos of their amazing baked goods at Persephone, but I don’t really do much directing when it comes to cupcakes ). They were so happy and smiley I didn’t do much directing here, either – you could just feel how excited they were to be getting married.

A few weeks ago I headed up north with Carl, Kelly and Emiline for a family session before their family of three turned into a family of four! Kelly was due in just a few weeks and wanted to be sure to get some images of Emiline while she was still an only child.

Last week I had the pleasure of heading up north of Jackson to Triangle X Ranch to photograph the lovely Turner family! They had gotten my information through my friend Julie and her wonderful pre- & post-natal fitness classes and booked me for an evening session up at the ranch. We started out indoors for some images of Claire the peanut and then headed outside into the beeeeeeeyouteeeeful sunset light to get a few of the whole family.

Izzy did NOT want to be left out.

Lisa – Jackson Hole Trash the Dress Photographer

“I want to do a day after session, too. Something different, like rafting!”

And that’s how we ended up on the Snake River the day after Lisa & Monte’s wedding with what may be the first Monique Lhullier wedding gown to go whitewater rafting.

I waited for Lisa and Spencer atop Lunchcounter, one of the canyon’s infamous ginormous rapids.

First wave, no problem.

Second wave….minor problem. We lost Spencer! And his hat…and his shoes…and his sunglasses….

Lisa totally rocked the rest of the stretch on her own and pulled over to wait for us to catch up. Spencer hiked up and around a cliff band to get over to her and they paddled back upstream a bit to pick me up. All in all, no harm done (other than losing the world’s coolest Rainier hat), and a little extra excitement added to the day! Like you need extra excitement rafting the Snake…
