  • Hi there!

I started photographing weddings a few years ago and absolutely fell in love. It is so humbling to be invited to share such a personal look at one of the most amazing and unforgettable days in a person's life. I especially love weddings because there is so much going on and so much raw emotion - I'm on my toes all day, capturing it all. It's one of those jobs where you are so sore the next day but feel light as air while you're shooting. It's amazing, and I hope I get to do it for the rest of my life. I'm currently based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and am available for worldwide travel. Please 101,109,97,105,108,32,109,101em liame with any questions you have about photography for your special day.

lava hot springs

Way back in May (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in May, because you know it was SO LONG AGO) we took a trip to Lava Hot Springs, ID as a Mother’s Day excursion. While the weather wasn’t exactly cooperative, we had a great time and were able to do some good wandering around. And actually, sitting in hot springs in the rain is pretty cool.

Here’s a few of my favorites from the trip -

Dick - I want that Caribou sign!

katy - I know! There were a ton of great old motel signs on the way, I was loving it.

kisa koenig - Looks awesome…and old. I’ll be going in Sept. for the first time. The boy is getting so big!
kisa koenig´s last [type] ..published perfect bound

katy - it’s really kind of a neat place – I’d like to go back when the big waterslide is open!

Kris - What a sweet family.
You must have enough motel sign photos for an exhibit or a book by now.

Leah - I would like your earrings please.

katy - Mom – I probably do, it’s just a matter of collecting them! I’m not very good about putting them in their own place.

Pants – I got them at a street fair here in Jackson, aren’t they great? I want 17 more just like them in different colors.

Cheek to Chic - Gorgeous photos, they are so beautiful!

baby sam – jackson hole newborn photographer

This weekend I was lucky enough to head up to Moose, Wyoming to photograph baby Sam and his mom Susanne.  He’s just 10 days old and such a little peanut!  He wasn’t real big on the whole ‘sleeping’ thing but we had a great time and got some wonderful images.  A few of my favorites -

How cool is this room? Susanne and her dad painted the whole thing, I just love it.

Like I said at our session – I have to get photos of ALL the kids.

Susanne saw the fabric I used in Sierra’s newborn photos and requested I bring it along.  Thankfully I hadn’t made it into pillows or a quilt or something yet!

Kris - These are wonderful, Katy. I wish I had a photo shoot of you when you were 10 days old.

Sherral - Beautiful! I love when family pets make it into the photos!

em - It’s hard to say who’s cuter, the baby or the pups. And omg, that bedroom rocks!

Timothy - Doggies and babies. Love it. I hope my dogs act like that when I have my little one.

Nick Bombich - I am a Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer and I just ran across your site. From time to time we photograph kids and babies and it is just so amazing to capture their tiny little expressions. You did such a wonderful job. I love your work. I can not wait to check back and see more.

dan - Love the Collie photos!
What a cute baby.

salt lake city

Last weekend we took a quick road trip down to Salt Lake City, UT to do some shopping and head for that Holy Grail of home furnishings, Ikea.  We had a great time – got a fabulous hotel within walking distance of the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum and fantastic shopping and restaurants.  It’s always so nice to get out of town for a bit!  Of course it’s always nice to come home, too.  :P

Anyone know what kind of tree this is? Its flowers were huge and super pretty.

Dick - Those trees remind me of the trees called Hong Kong Orchids that we see in Florida but I don’t know if that is what they are. Nice pics.

Kris - Looks like a very nice getaway weekend. I’m jealous of the spring weather.

katy - ha, me too – it snowed here again today. yuk-o-matic.

Jenna - I think it’s a dogwood tree! I asked someone about them in MI last year and that’s what they told me. Not positive though :)

katy - Thanks Jenna!

milo learns to ski

Last weekend we headed out to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for a big event…Milo’s first day out on big boy skis!  We had a bit of trouble when the zipper of his snowpants blew out beyond repair, but thankfully daycare came to the rescue with a spare pair of bibs and we were good to go.  He totally loved it – ‘more lift daddy!!  more ski!!’ – and we all had a fantastic time.

My attempt at a family photo.  Verdict?  My arms aren’t long enough to use a 50mm for a group shot.  Doh.

Milo’s friend Ozzie.  I think he was jealous of Milo’s skis.

Love this one of Milo and Nate.

And something new…..video!  Here’s Milo’s very first time skiing.

em - Sooooo cute! I love the one of him carrying his own skis. Also, those are the kind of skis and harness I will need if I ever go skiing.

Kris - THANK YOU!!! Just what I wanted to see. This is priceless. He looks so big coming up the steps, and so little in his Daddy’s arms.

Papa - Too cute!

Chris - Awesome! And great pix…even the “family photo.” Guess I’d better get back there and ski soon while I can still keep up with Milo.

Chris - I love that after watching the video of Milo skiing, the next uTube video to come up is, “Someday Somebody will Ski That.”

Louis Schroder - Can you say Olympics 2024!? Well done!

Alex Harrison - Awesome photos and it looks like you all had such fun. I just can’t wait until my two year old is old enough to start learning to ski!
